PATIENT STORY
Emily Whitehead was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at age five. In 2012, she became the first child in the world to receive CAR T-cell therapy in a breakthrough clinical trial. Stand Up To Cancer- funded researchers leveraged the success of Emily’s trial, and their work contributed to an U.S. FDA approval for the same treatment she received, allowing many more kids with ALL to become survivors.
Learn more about Emily’s story of hope in the documentary Of Medicine and Miracles, available to stream online for a limited time. Find out how to watch here.
