Last month, we celebrated Stand Up To Cancer’s 16th anniversary. Thanks to your support, SU2C-funded scientists are at the forefront of cutting-edge cancer research, and we are able to continue funding research focused on detecting and treating cancers.
Learn about the progress SU2C has made over the past 16 years – and what the future holds – by watching the video below, featuring scientists at our annual Scientific Summit held earlier this year.

PATIENT STORY
Nathaniel Lam was stunned when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer at 26 years old. “My first thought was why is it happening to me?,” he said. Then, he shifted his perspective.
“For me, it was accepting that it has happened and what I can do to fight and defeat it. I’m so grateful for the entire medical team plus my friends and family that were always there for me.”
Nathaniel is now a survivor and is back to his active lifestyle. He encourages others his age to stay on top of their regular checkups, and is passionate about advocacy.

SU2C SCIENCE
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation-SU2C Pediatric Cancer Dream Team conducted clinical trials utilizing a cell-based immunotherapy called CAR-T therapy for children and young adults with a type of blood cancer, leading to the first CAR-T therapy approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Thanks to this initial FDA approval, CAR-T therapies – which are less toxic than standard treatments – are now used widely for a number of cancers.

SU2C IN THE NEWS
Last month, 22 daytime TV stars, including Cameron Mathison and Kim Zimmer, teamed up with SU2C to raise funds for life-saving cancer research in the first-of-its-kind benefit “Daytime Stands Up: A Benefit for Stand Up To Cancer… We All Have A Story.”
We are so grateful for everyone who tuned in and donated to raise funds to enable scientific breakthroughs in cancer research and treatments.
