THE ALEX TREBEK FUND AT STAND UP TO CANCER

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and Stand Up To Cancer has partnered with the Trebek family to launch The Alex Trebek Fund in memory of the late beloved Jeopardy! host. The goal of this fund is to support innovative pancreatic cancer research focused on saving lives now.

We are pleased to announce a $250,000 challenge match campaign in support of The Alex Trebek Fund, which is supported by generous donations from the Trebek family and the Estate of Barbara Hanania. These donors, whose lives were impacted by pancreatic cancer, are encouraging our supporters to match that amount.

PATIENT ADVOCACY

Former NFL player Chris Draft married his wife Keasha after her 2010 lung cancer diagnosis. She passed away shortly after, in 2011.

Before their wedding, Keasha asked Chris, “What if we don’t request presents? What if we ask our family and friends to join us in our support of the lung cancer community and stand together knowing that it’s going to take a team to change things?” It is a wish that Chris has continued to honor as a Stand Up To Cancer patient advocate.

“Cancer research gives us progress, and progress helps save lives. I choose to be excited about the future of cancer research and survivorship,” says Chris.

Chris stands up for those who are impacted directly by the disease, as well as those around them.

STAND UP TO CANCER PLACARD MOMENT

Thousands of people in Chase Field in Phoenix, Major League Baseball Players, and audiences around the country stood up on October 31st during the Major League Baseball World Series presented by Capital One, for a moment of silence honoring everyone affected by cancer.

It’s not too late to join the movement by creating an SU2C placard of your own in honor of your loved ones and sharing it on your social media.
