Stand Up To Cancer celebrated 15 years of funding groundbreaking cancer research during our eighth televised fundraising special on August 19, 2023.

Entertainers from the worlds of film, television, music, and more shared the screen to salute the game-changing work of SU2C’s scientists and researchers, and raised awareness about the continued need for cancer research to save lives now. The telecast featured moving patient stories, as well as inspiring looks into the developments being made by SU2C’s scientists.

Over 10 years in the making, “Of Medicine and Miracles” is directed by Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Ross Kauffman and tells the story of Emily Whitehead. Emily was the first pediatric patient in the world to be treated with CAR T-cell therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This film follows oncologist Dr. Carl June as he and his team develop this revolutionary treatment for leukemia.
