Plane Wrap Donation FAQ

These FAQs are incorporated into and form a part of the Plane Wrap Donation Terms and Conditions.

What are the dates of the American Airlines official Stand Up To Cancer plane wrap donation campaign?

The campaign is now over. The American Airlines official Stand Up To Cancer plane wrap campaign was the entire month of July 2019 (12:01 AM ET July 1 – 11:59 PM ET July 31, 2019).

When is the American Airlines official Stand Up To Cancer plane wrap going to be unveiled?

It is anticipated that the final plane design will be unveiled in the Fall of 2019. American Airlines will have a website where you can look up your loved one’s name to see its placement on the plane. There will also be an option to purchase a small model of the airplane. Stand Up To Cancer will email all donors when these features are live.

How long will the name I submitted be on the plane?

It is anticipated that an honoree’s name will be on the plane for at least 18 months, which is the lifespan of the decal. However, American Airlines reserves the right to remove the plane wrap or take the airplane out of commission at any time, in its sole discretion.

Can I get a refund for my donation?

Donations made in connection with the American Airlines official Stand Up To Cancer plane wrap campaign are not refundable.

How many other names will be on the plane?

As many as there are people who donate and submit honorees’ names before the deadline at 11:59 PM ET July 31, 2019.

What if I change my mind and no longer want my honoree’s name on the plane?

If you submitted an honoree’s name and you no longer want it to be placed on the American Airlines official Stand Up To Cancer plane, you must send an email to Stand Up To Cancer no later than 11:59 PM ET on August 5, 2019 at support@su2c.org with your name, donation date, email address submitted when you made your donation and the name of the honoree whose name you submitted.

I made an error and/or want to change my honoree’s name. How do I submit an update?

You must email Stand Up To Cancer no later than 11:59 PM ET on August 5, 2019 at support@su2c.org with your name, donation date, email address submitted when you made your donation, the name of the honoree whose name you submitted and the update you would like to make.

I received an email stating that the name I submitted was rejected. Can I find out why it was rejected?

American Airlines reserves the right to reject an honoree’s name from inclusion on the plane for any reason, including, without limitation, if American Airlines deems it to be controversial, inappropriate or harmful to a third party or to the American Airlines’ brand or reputation or in violation of a third party’s rights. Given the number of submissions expected to be received, American Airlines will be unable to provide the specifics on why an individual name was rejected.

You will have one business day from the time you receive the email stating your honorees name has been rejected to modify your submission name. Outside of that timeline there will no longer be an opportunity to modify. SU2C and AA are not responsible for delayed or undeliverable emails, or emails that get blocked by spam filters.

What information about me gets shared by Stand Up To Cancer with American Airlines?

When you choose to submit your honoree’s name for the Stand Up To Cancer plane, your name (as the donor), your email address and your honoree’s name will be shared by Stand Up To Cancer with American Airlines and its designees for use in connection with the plane wrap campaign.
