August 2, 2011 – FOX Sports Radio is proud to announce a partnership with MasterCard Worldwide and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) to launch a program that will heighten awareness of the Eat, Drink and Be Generous campaign that began last month. Beginning Monday, July 25th and lasting throughout the summer, guests appearing on the radio network will be featured on the “MasterCard Celebrity Hotline,” with specific messaging about the campaign to be included on air, on www.FOXSportsRadio.com and on the network’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Eat, Drink and Be Generous encourages consumers to use their MasterCard when dining out from now through September 1st and every time they do, MasterCard will donate one penny for each purchase, up to a total of $4 million, to SU2C.
“We are honored to support breakthrough cancer research funded through Stand Up To Cancer with Eat, Drink and Be Generous,” said MasterCard Group Head of US Marketing, Cheryl Guerin. “For consumers it’s as simple as choosing to use a MasterCard to pay for a meal and you too can stand with us in the fight against a disease that impacts so many. The MasterCard Celebrity Hotline featured on FOX Sports Radio will help us further spread the word about how easy it is to get involved.”
“It is a privilege to work with these two fantastic organizations to further such an important cause,” stated Don Martin, Vice President/General Manager, FOX Sports Radio.
Stand Up To Cancer, which is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) and is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was formed in 2008 by a group of media, entertainment and philanthropic leaders who utilize the resources of those businesses in unique ways to get the public involved in supporting a new model of cancer research. SU2C brings together the best and brightest scientists from various disciplines to work collaboratively and quickly to save lives now.
“Every penny counts in the fight against cancer, and using a MasterCard to pay for a meal is an easy way to support the scientists working to end it,” said Sue Schwartz, SU2C co-founder. “We’re so grateful to FOX Sports Radio for getting that message out to all of its listeners.”

About Stand Up To Cancer
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and was established by a group of media, entertainment and philanthropic leaders whose lives have been affected by cancer in significant ways. Members of the Executive Leadership Council include Katie Couric; the Entertainment Industry Foundation, represented by Board of Directors Chairperson Sherry Lansing (Founder of the Sherry Lansing Foundation), CEO Lisa Paulsen and Senior Vice President Kathleen Lobb; Rusty Robertson and Sue Schwartz of the Robertson Schwartz Agency; Pam Williams, partner at Laura Ziskin Productions; and nonprofit executive Ellen Ziffren. The late Laura Ziskin, a legendary film producer who executive produced the 2008 and 2010 SU2C telecasts, was also a co-founder of Stand Up To Cancer.
SU2C’s Dream Team approach to funding translational cancer research brings together scientists from different disciplines at research centers across the country and internationally who will work collaboratively to move scientific developments from the lab to the clinic, where they can benefit patients, in an accelerated timeframe. Monies will also be used to support innovative cancer research projects, which are often deemed “too risky” by conventional funding sources. As a partner in SU2C, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), led by a prestigious SU2C Scientific Advisory Committee, provides scientific oversight, expert review of the research projects, and grants administration.
