Stand Up To Cancer And Melanoma Research Alliance Announce Dream Team

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) and SU2C’s scientific partner, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), today announced a new Dream Team dedicated to melanoma research. Jeffrey M. Trent, Ph.D., and Patricia M. LoRusso, D.O., will lead the Dream Team project entitled “Personalized Medicine for Patients with BRAF Wild-Type (BRAFwt) Cancer.”

MLB All-Star Game Charity 5k & Fun Run Presented By Nike Benefiting Cancer Charities Returns In 2012

Major League Baseball today announced the third All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Run presented by Nike, which will take place on Sunday, July 8, 2012. MLB will donate all net proceeds from the event to three charities supporting cancer research and education - Prostate Cancer Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Previous MLB All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Runs have been held in St. Louis (2009) and Anaheim (2010). This unique event unites three national cancer organizations that are committed to leading the fight against cancer.

SU2C & The Cast of “New Year’s Eve” Make Resolution to Help Change The Odds

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) is proud to announce a new public service announcement (PSA) featuring the stellar ensemble cast of the holiday romantic comedy NEW YEAR’S EVE from director Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman, Valentine’s Day), that will appear in national and regional publications during the month of December. The new SU2C print PSA campaign, asks the public to join the cast of New Year’s Eve-which boasts some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Robert De Niro, Josh Duhamel, Zac Efron, Hector Elizondo, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Seth Meyers, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Til Schweiger, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara-to help change the odds and stand up in the fight against cancer.

SU2C and Lucasfilm Kick Off The Holiday Season by Using The Force For Good

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and Lucasfilm will continue their collaboration this holiday season when they release never-before-seen outtakes from the highly popular star-studded video clip that urges fans to Use the Force for Good. The campaign continues to raise funds for groundbreaking cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives. Just in time for holiday shopping and due to popular demand, SU2C and Lucasfilm have added a fourth design incorporating the iconic image of Darth Vader to their line of co-branded tees, which feature Star Wars™ artwork alongside SU2C’s signature upward arrows and slogans such as “Blast Cancer” and “Use the Force for Good.” This new exclusive Darth Vader t-shirt bears the slogan “Do Not Underestimate the Power of SU2C,” and will be available for purchase in late November. CA Cancer Research Ballot Initiative Honors Cancer Victims & Fighters

The campaign to pass a June 2012 ballot initiative, the California Cancer Research Act (CCRA), today unveiled a new website inviting Californians to honor loved ones whose lives have been lost to cancer, heart and lung disease, and to those still enduring treatments. The new website’s “Wall of Honor”, at www.californiansforacure.org/honor/book, was created after the campaign experienced the loss of two of its own board members to cancer this year.

MasterCard to Present $4 Million Donation to SU2C On-Field at Game 4 of the 2011 World Series

During Game 4 of the 2011 MLB World Series, MasterCard Worldwide will make an on-field donation presentation to Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) to signify the culmination of the Eat, Drink and Be Generous campaign. Launched during the MLB All-Star Game in July, MasterCard made a donation to SU2C every time cardholders used their MasterCard when dining out. Qualifying purchases included everything from a single cup of coffee or quick meal, to take out and fine dining.
