Tim Salmon to Appear at MLB® All-Star 5K

Former Angels outfielder Tim Salmon is proudly showing his support for cancer research and education by joining Major League Baseball, Angels Hall of Famer Bobby Grich and Jillian Michaels, star of The Biggest Loser and Losing It With Jillian, at the All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Run presented by Sports Authority and Nike, taking place on Sunday, July 11, 2010. Salmon will be handing out medals and congratulating participants as they cross the finish line. The event will benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and City of Hope with Major League Baseball donating 100% of registration fees to the organizations.

Sony Computer Entertainment America Pitches In to Support Stand Up To Cancer

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA), Major League Baseball, and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) are teaming up to fight cancer this year. Beginning June 13 through July 10, for every copy of MLB®10 The Show™ purchased for PlayStation®3 (PS3™) in retail stores, SCEA will donate $10 of its proceeds to SU2C to fuel research centered on getting new treatments to patients quickly and saving lives. Baseball fans across the U.S. now will have the opportunity to play the most authentic and realistic baseball game in MLB 10 The Show while also joining the ever-growing SU2C community to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

San Diego Padres Join Forces With Stand Up To Cancer

Beginning May 14, signing walls will be displayed at the Home Plate and East Village entrances to PETCO Park. Throughout the season, all fans will be encouraged to sign the wall in tribute to friends or family members impacted by cancer. During the final homestand of the season, the outfield wall at PETCO Park will be replaced with this honorary wall.

Comcast Corporation and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) have launched the second installment of musical assets for Stand Up 2 Cancer On Demand, the first-ever video-on-demand (VOD) initiative focused on broadening awareness and raising funds for innovative cancer research, which debuted on Comcast in December. Twenty-eight additional artists are providing content to On Demand, adding to the library of musical entertainment that already includes many of the world’s biggest stars. In addition, select content from Stand Up 2 Cancer On Demand is available on comcast.net.
