SAN FRANCISCO and WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 2, 2016 — Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and Rally Health, Inc., a digital health company that makes it easy for people to take charge of their health, are working together to raise awareness about the importance of screenings and early detection to prevent cancer.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, many adults in the United States are not getting the recommended cancer screening tests, especially adults in the age groups recommended for colorectal, breast and cervical cancer screenings.
SU2C and Rally Health’s multiyear collaboration is focused on informing people about the importance of proactively getting screened and taking preventive actions against cancer, including getting vaccinations that protect against viruses that cause cancer, such as the human papillomavirus, and engaging in healthy behaviors such as not smoking and remaining physically active. SU2C and Rally Health will produce a series of public service announcements (PSAs) featuring celebrities who will encourage people to make a personal pledge to safeguard their health by getting preventive cancer screenings and vaccinations. People will be invited to visit the Rally Health website where they can take the pledge to get screened and receive a personalized list of recommended cancer screenings, vaccinations and healthy activities.
“Together with SU2C, we want to encourage people to take the simple step to get their routine cancer screenings. Early detection can potentially save their lives,” said David Ko, Rally Health President and COO. “At Rally Health, we believe that the path to getting healthy and staying healthy can be taken in small, easy steps that ultimately have a big impact.”
“We are thrilled to work with Rally Health to underscore the importance of cancer prevention,” said Entertainment Industry Foundation CEO and Stand Up To Cancer Co-Founder Lisa Paulsen. “While there have been significant advances in cancer research and treatments over the years, we must continue to inspire people to be proactive about their health, and to learn about cancer and what they can do to prevent it.”
