The Power of AI in Cancer Research

SU2C’s SVP of Science Programs, Cathy Higgins, was recently a panelist at the Spring 2025 Health Research Alliance (HRA) Members Meeting, held virtually March 10–13, 2025. The session, titled The Potential for AI in Discovery Science, brought together thought leaders to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of medical research.

Cathy shared SU2C’s perspective on how AI can accelerate breakthroughs—from early detection to precision medicine—and emphasized the role of data collaboration in speeding progress against cancer. Her remarks underscored the importance of keeping patients at the center of innovation and the responsibility we share to ensure new technologies are used equitably and ethically.
