First SU2C Catalyst RFP Announced with support from Merck

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) announced today the first Request For Proposals (RFP) under SU2C Catalyst™, a program working with industry to support clinical trials and translational research. Funded by SU2C Catalyst Founding Collaborator Merck, known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, the grants will support investigation of new uses of the company’s anti-PD-1 therapy, Keytruda® (pembrolizumab), alone or in combination with other agents from Merck or other companies.

SU2C to Offer Training Modules for Nurses on Front Lines of Administering New Cancer Therapies

In recognition of Nurses Appreciation Week, Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) announces the development of a series of Certification for Nursing Education (CNE) training modules by experts from Boston College William F. Connell School of Nursing. The CNE modules will equip nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to manage the unique challenges and patient symptoms that accompany administration of emerging immunotherapies to treat cancer. The first of a series of the three web-based SU2C-Boston College Immunotherapy CNE modules will be available to nurses in July 2016.

Minnie Driver Joins SU2C, OCRFA and NOCC in New PSA

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (OCRFA), and National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) have teamed up on a new ovarian cancer public service announcement (PSA) campaign featuring Academy-Award nominated actress Minnie Driver, who lost her grandmother to the disease. SU2C Supports “Innovation in Collaboration” with $1M for Five Teams Through Philip A. Sharp Awards

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) has awarded a total of $1 million to five teams of cancer researchers to advance “innovation in collaboration” among SU2C-affiliated scientists. Each team, consisting of researchers from different SU2C-supported “Dream Teams” or research programs, will receive a grant of $200,000 to support new research projects stemming from previous advances in cancer research from the SU2C community. Four of the five teams are focused on immunotherapy and the fifth on DNA repair.

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) announced Monday that it is awarding 10 grants of $750,000 each to early-career scientists to support innovative, high-risk, high-reward projects in cancer research. The announcement was made at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, SU2C’s Scientific Partner.
