SU2C’s Unique Research Funding Model Yielded Success With First Round of Dream Team Grants
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and the American Association for Cancer Research, SU2C’s scientific partner, are pleased to announce that the original Dream Team grants awarded by SU2C to five multi-institutional, cross-disciplinary research teams in May 2009, have accelerated cancer research progress that has been translated into meaningful advances for patients with cancer in just three years.

Call for Applications for up to $8M SU2C-DCS Dream Team Grant
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is now accepting applications for a Sta Op Tegen Kanker (“Stand Up To Cancer” in Dutch) Dream Team Translational Cancer Research Grant. This grant opportunity will offer up to €6 million (U.S. $8 million, at the current conversion rate) in research funding and is provided by Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and KWF Kankerbestrijding (the Dutch Cancer Society).

SU2C and CRI Announce New Immunology Translational Research Dream Team
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) announce the formation of a Dream Team project dedicated to cancer immunology — “Immunologic Checkpoint Blockade and Adoptive Cell Transfer in Cancer Therapy.” Cancer immunology is a field of research that explores the complex relationship between cancer and the immune system, with the goal of discovering immune-based solutions to curing cancer.

More Than $150,000 Raised for SU2C Through MLB.com Auction oF Rare Baseball Experience
Major League Baseball and its 30 Clubs raised $152,700 for Stand Up To Cancer in an auction of 78 unique baseball items and experiences on MLB.com. The four-day auction which was inspired by the baseball public relations officials and club executives who are bravely fighting cancer, drew 1,809 total bids on a range of items representing all 30 Clubs.

MLB World Series Game 1 Will Feature SU2C Placard Moment
Game One of the 2012 World Series on FOX will be dedicated to Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) to promote the importance of advancing the fight against cancer and will also include Season 11 American Idol winner and singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips performing the National Anthem. Game One will take place on Wednesday, October 24th at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX featuring the San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers.
