Major League Baseball Dedicates World Series Game 1 to SU2C
Major League Baseball has dedicated Games One through Four of the 2012 World Series to highlighting MLB charitable partners and signature programs in order to raise awareness for important community causes, including: advancing the fight against cancer with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) during Game One; honoring veterans and their families with Welcome Back Veterans during Game Two; supporting youth, especially those in underserved communities, with MLB youth programs (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities, & Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Breaking Barriers) during Game Three; and celebrating community service with Habitat for Humanity during Game Four. The 108th Fall Classic begins on Wednesday, October 24th LIVE on FOX.

MasterCard to Present $4M Donation to SU2C at MLB World Series Game 1
October 17, 2012 - On-field prior to Game One of the 2012 World Series, MasterCard Worldwide will present a $4 million contribution to Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) signifying the culmination of the Dine and Be Generous campaign. Through the program, which launched at the MLB All-Star Game in July, MasterCard made a penny contribution to SU2C when cardholders spent $10 or more for a meal on their MasterCard cards, up to $4 million (U.S.).

Stand Up To Cancer’s inaugural Laura Ziskin Prize in Translational Cancer Research was awarded tonight to two scientists who are developing ways to attack the elusive form of breast cancer that caused the death of the famed film producer. The prize was created with $1.1 million designated for this purpose in Ziskin’s will.
