SU2C Gets Ugly This Holiday Season!
‘Tis the season to dress ugly for a great cause – fighting cancer. For the second year in a row, Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) is asking celebrators around the world to proudly rock their hideous holiday-themed sweaters as a way to raise critical funds for innovative, translational cancer research. SU2C’s “Ugly Sweater” Holiday Campaign (http://www.su2c.org/ugly) kicks off on Nov. 20 and promises to be even “uglier” than last year.

SU2C & Dutch Cancer Society Announce New Dream Team Grant Recipients
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF Kankerbestrijding), along with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), SU2C’s scientific partner, announce the formation of a Dream Team dedicated to developing new tools and technologies for preclinical drug testing and analysis.

MasterCard Extends ‘Dig In & Do Good’ Campaign Benefiting SU2C!
MasterCard announced during the World Series that the company will extend their Dig In & Do Good campaign through the holiday season with the goal of raising an additional $4 million for Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C). Through the program, MasterCard will continue to make a one cent donation to SU2C when cardholders spend $10 or more for a meal using their MasterCard through December 31, 2013 up to $4 million (U.S.). The program engages consumers to help drive necessary funding for innovative cancer research through their already planned activity simply by making the choice to use their MasterCard to pay for their meal.

Announcing the SU2C app for iPhone®
A new smart phone app provides users everywhere with an easy way to honor loved ones affected by cancer through multiple social media channels. With the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) app, available for iPhone® through the App StoreSM, users can create custom photo placards naming the mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, siblings, spouses, and friends in whose honor they are taking a stand against cancer. Users can also share their placards on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook directly from the SU2C app. MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media and internet company of Major League Baseball, developed the app for SU2C, an initiative that raises funds to accelerate collaborative research that gets new therapies to patients quickly. Major League Baseball has committed more than $35 million to the initiative since its inception.

CBS Daytime Announces “CBS Daytime After Dark” Benefiting SU2C
CBS Daytime announces a free fan event, CBS DAYTIME AFTER DARK, featuring an evening of stand-up comedy from some of CBS Daytime’s biggest stars, on Tuesday, Oct. 8 to benefit the charity Stand Up To Cancer, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which funds groundbreaking cancer research.
World famous comedians and CBS Daytime stars Drew Carey (THE PRICE IS RIGHT), Wayne Brady with Jonathan Mangum and keyboardist Cat Gray (LET’S MAKE A DEAL), Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood (THE TALK) will perform live at the Legendary Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, Calif. Actor and comedian Billy Gardell (MIKE AND MOLLY) will serve as host of the evening.

Fox Family Joins with Lustgarten Foundation & SU2C to Fund New Dream Team
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is now accepting submissions of ideas for the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C)-Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Convergence Dream Team Translational Research Grant, which will offer up to $8 million over a three-year period. The Lustgarten Foundation is providing $4 million in funding for this team. Collectively, the Fox Family Cancer Research Funding Trust and the Fox Family Foundation are making a $5 million gift to Stand Up To Cancer, $4 million of which is supporting this particular team.

Crush Cancer Event On Oct. 12 To Benefit SU2C
Crush Cancer 2013 is presented by DogTown CrossFit to raise awareness and funds that will benefit Stand Up To Cancer’s (SU2C) collaborative translational research. The event will be held in cities across the country and around the globe on Saturday, Oct. 12, with the main event taking place in Downtown Culver City, CA (9300 Culver Blvd) from 8 am – 4 pm.

Marg Helgenberger Teams Up Again with SU2C & Safeway Foundation
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), and The Safeway Foundation have collaborated on a second public service campaign featuring actress and SU2C Ambassador Marg Helgenberger. The campaign, entitled “Together, We’re Creating a Brighter Tomorrow,” is designed to raise funds and increase awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The campaign launches October 1, the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The SU2C-Farrah Fawcett Foundation Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Translational Research Team Grant will commit one million dollars over a three-year period to fund a research project that addresses critical problems in HPV-related cancers and can deliver near-term patient benefit via a multidisciplinary research Team.
